No 'lambs' were sacrificed: Rathore slammed Tharoor over PM's video
Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore slammed Congress leader Shashi Tharoor for spreading a report that claimed Rs. 35 lakh was spent to film PM Narendra Modi's fitness challenge video. Interestingly, Tharoor in his tweet wrote 'lambs' instead of 'lakhs'. Rathore was quick to take a jibe on that. Later, Tharoor claimed Indian taxpayers faced the brunt of BJP's rule, nonetheless.
Tharoor's claim of money spent in video invited Rathore's reply
On Monday, Tharoor posted a news report that claimed Rs. 35 lakh was spent on PM's video and wrote: Hype is their substitute for hope -- the hopes they have destroyed. Tharoor's tweet was rebuked by Rathore who tweeted the report was based on hearsay and in reality, the video was shot by PM's videographer. Rathore added he wasn't surprised by Tharoor's 'false' tweet.
However, Tharoor didn't give up, he posted another tweet
Many on Twitter cheered after Rathore's response
After Rathore blew lid off the false report, many Twitter users clapped. Twitter user @subhrajeet_das wrote: Mr Sashi Tharoor is flabbergasted!! No pun intended, and @mamtan14 tweeted: Sir, you're still a gold standard Shooter! Author and columnist @Shubhrastha tweeted: Mr. @ShashiTharoor seems @divyaspandana ji is not doing her research well. None of what you say matches up to smoke you produced without fire.
What is Modi's fitness video all about?
Notably, on June 13, PM Modi participated in the fitness challenge hurled at him by ace Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. Sharing his fitness video on social media, Modi wrote he walked on a track that encompasses 5 elements of nature - Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Air) and Aakash (Sky). He wrote the exercises left him refreshed and rejuvenated.
