In Vasundhara Raje's presence, two BJP leaders attack each other
In an incident which has left BJP red-faced, two of its leaders exchanged blows at a rally in Rajasthan's Alwar in the presence of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. A video of the scuffle was shared by news agency ANI and has since become a talking point. The two leaders, who fought on stage, were identified as Rohitash Sharma and Devi Singh Shekhawat.
While Raje was giving speech, BJP leaders broke into fight
The fight, reportedly, started when Raje was delivering a speech as part of her 'Gaurav Yatra'. Both Sharma and Shekhawat accused each other of misbehaving on stage, and soon it turned into a complete disaster. People present tried to separate the two and took them off the stage. The scuffle finally ended when Raje's security officials intervened. So much for good governance!
Leaders slap each other to point out misbehavior
Raje's 'Gaurav Yatra' has invited criticism from opposition
But this is only the latest controversy to rock 'Gaurav Yatra'. As a part of this outreach programme, Raje is expected to cover 6,054 kilometres across 165 constituencies. The opposition had claimed this was a misuse of government machinery and asked for its immediate suspension. Notably, the state's High Court ordered that no state-sponsored function will be held during this 40-day yatra.
Separately, Manvendra Singh quitting BJP spells trouble for Raje
While Raje is trying hard to sell the idea of development and has hopes of returning to power again, MLA Manvendra Singh quit the BJP on Saturday. Manvendra Singh, who is the son of BJP veteran Jaswant Singh, said joining the party was a huge mistake. His exit is likely to hurt Rajput votes.
