BJP uses Gandhi's "suit-boot" tag to slam his costly jacket
What's the story
In 2015, Rahul Gandhi took on Narendra Modi's "suit-boot ki sarkar." Three years later, the tag is back, but this time for Gandhi himself.
The Congress President was visiting Meghalaya wearing a jacket which cost Rs. 63,000, according to the BJP.
"Soot (pun intended!)-boot ki sarkar with 'black' money fleeced from Meghalayan State exchequer by rampant corruption? Your indifference mocks us!" Meghalaya BJP tweeted.

The birth of the "suit-boot" tag
The phrase climbed to fame when Gandhi used it to attack the Modi government in Parliament in April'15.
The 'suit' was a reference to the PM's name-striped suit he wore during former US President Barack Obama's visit to India earlier that year.
It was eventually auctioned for Rs. 4.31cr; the money was used for the campaign to clean the Ganga.
