RaGa on a 2-day visit to Amethi from September 24
Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be on a two-day visit to his Parliamentary constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, beginning September 24. During the visit, he will take part in the District Development and Monitoring Committee meeting at the collectorate in Gauriganj, said Yogendra Misra, the district unit president of the party. He will also meet party workers and locals, Misra said.
After landing in Lucknow, Rahul to address gathering of women
Gandhi's political representative in Amethi, Chandra Kant Dubey, said that Rahul will be landing at Choudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at 10am on September 24. Rahul will then drive to Nigoha near Fursatganj to address a gathering of women on the Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojana. Later, he will inaugurate some projects at Jais under Tiloi assembly segment completed through MP-LAD fund.
Meeting with farmers, party activists, chairing district development meet
Dubey said that on the evening of September 24, Rahul will meet farmers at Gauriganj, the district headquarter of Amethi. Rahul will stay at Musafirkhana that night where he will meet party activists and different delegates to discuss political developments. The next day, Rahul will chair a meeting of the District Development and Monitoring Committee on the premises of the Collectorate at Gauriganj.
Smriti Irani had criticized Rahul for his neglecting Amethi
Union Minister Smriti Irani paid two single-day visits to Amethi in the first week this month during which she criticized Rahul for his alleged negligence of Amethi. She had unsuccessfully contested the last Lok Sabha poll from Amethi as BJP nominee against the Congress leader.
