Rahul Gandhi accuses Gujarat Congress leaders of working for BJP
What's the story
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has made a major allegation—some party members are working secretly for the BJP.
Addressing party workers during his Gujarat visit, he said it was important to identify and remove them from the Congress's state unit.
If needed, he could sack up to 40 leaders to clean the party in Gujarat, which has been ruled by the BJP for decades, he warned.

Two distinct groups within Gujarat Congress
Gandhi pointed out a split in the Gujarat Congress: into two factions.
One consists of those dedicated to serving the people, respecting them, and living the Congress ideology.
The other consists of those who are cut off from the people and have no respect for them, half of whom are allegedly with the BJP.
He stressed the two factions need to be separated for the party's revival in Gujarat.

Gandhi's vision for Congress's future in Gujarat
Gandhi stated that the people of Gujarat would not trust Congress until these two groups were separated.
He urged the party to "find a place in their hearts" by setting aside the focus on winning or losing elections.
He criticized the BJP government, claiming that people felt "trapped," and key industries were struggling.
He also mentioned that small traders, businesses, and entrepreneurs form Gujarat's backbone, but are currently facing challenges.
Fresh perspective
Congress's need for a new vision
Gandhi stressed the necessity of a new vision, as the one offered during over three decades of BJP rule has fallen flat.
Congress can provide this vision, but only after filtering out these two categories of people, he added.
Admitting that Congress has not been in power in Gujarat for over 30 years, he said they hadn't lived up to people's expectations during this time.
