Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala's decision to invite Yeddyurappa to form the government had incited an angry Congress to challenge the decision in the Supreme Court. In a rare late night hearing, the SC refused to stop the swearing-in ceremony and posted the matter for hearing on Friday. Meanwhile, RaGa's tweet slamming the BJP didn't go unanswered as Amit Shah came out all guns blazing.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's comment on the murder of democracy, BJP chief Amit Shah was also quick to highlight the Congress's blemished track record when it came to upholding democracy. Pointing out the "horrific Emergency, blatant use of Article 356", and the Congress's history of "subverting the courts, media, and civil society", Shah said that democracy is the last thing RaGa should talk about.
