Priyanka Gandhi makes fun of PM Modi over 'radar-cloud' comment
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a peculiar remark about Balakot strikes. In an interview, he said he approved the risky operation even after the weather turned bad. His reason? Clouds will help escape Pakistani radar. As his "opinion" was joked about, Congress' Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also didn't let the opportunity go waste. On Monday, she mocked PM Modi by calling him "defense expert".
First off, here's what PM Modi said
While speaking to News Nation, PM Modi touched the topic of Balakot strikes, in which IAF jets entered Pakistani airspace to bomb Jaish-e-Mohammed's camp. PM Modi said on the day of operation (intervening night of February 25 and 26), the weather turned bad. While experts remained skeptical, he apparently suggested clouds would help "escape radar". He called this decision "his raw wisdom".
Priyanka slammed PM Modi with a Rafale angle
PM Modi displayed absolute ignorance in his chest-thumping. He forgot (?) that radars can penetrate clouds. Soon, Opposition slammed him for compromising national security. Holding onto the opportunity, Priyanka said in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, that PM Modi is such an expert that he decided a novice should build jets. Priyanka was obviously referring to Rafale deal, of which Anil Ambani is an offset partner.
Priyanka mocked PM Modi, Kamal Nath laughed
"He decided those who have never manufactured a plane in their lives will make it. He gave them land and a contract. He thought the weather is cloudy, (so) he won't come on the radar," Priyanka said as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath laughed.
Chants of 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' also filled the air
Congress, under Rahul Gandhi, made Rafale an election issue
The multi-crore Rafale deal has given ammunition to the Opposition, led by Congress, to attack BJP. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly alleged that PM Modi helped Ambani Jr. get the deal. He claimed PM Modi disregarded rules and made a new contract which is laced in corruption. The first deal was signed by UPA. But Dassault and French government have denied all allegations.
Separately, PM Modi supporters greeted Priyanka, she surprised them
On Monday, another interesting incident happened with Priyanka. During her roadshow in the central state, she was greeted by PM Modi's supporters who chanted his name. Taking the supporters by surprise, Priyanka stepped out of her vehicle and met them. "Aap apni jagah, main meri jagah. All the best (You are good at your place and I am at mine)," she said before leaving.
