'Cry baby leaders...': Priyanka's attack on PM Modi, Kejriwal
What's the story
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal at a public meeting in Seemapuri.
I haven't seen such crybaby leaders. I have not seen bigger cowards than them," she said.
Vadra alleged PM Modi often blames former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for his inability to work, while Kejriwal blames Modi for his own shortcomings.
Election issue
Vadra condemns PM Modi's focus on Sonia Gandhi's remarks
Vadra also slammed PM Modi for turning Sonia Gandhi's comments on President Droupadi Murmu into an election issue.
Defending her mother, she said, "One elderly woman is expressing her sympathy for another elderly woman."
She said that dwelling on such issues insults people battling inflation and unemployment.
Vadra asked the public to demand leaders to speak about real issues and not trivial matters.
Leadership comparison
Vadra contrasts Rajiv Gandhi's approach with current politics
Drawing a comparison between her father, former PM Rajiv Gandhi's approach to criticism and the current political climate, Vadra highlighted a stark contrast.
She criticized Kejriwal's stance of claiming honesty while others are dishonest, citing a liquor scam under his administration as evidence of hypocrisy.
She also alleged both Modi and Kejriwal are influenced by big industrialists, further questioning their integrity in governance.
Accusation dismissal
Vadra dismisses BJP's accusations against Congress leaders
Her remarks came after the Bharatiya Janata Party accused Congress leaders of insulting President Murmu after her Parliament address.
Vadra dismissed these accusations as distractions from pressing national issues like inflation and unemployment, saying that it amounted to insulting the people of the country.
She urged citizens to hold their leaders accountable for addressing these significant concerns instead of getting sidetracked by trivial matters.
