PM Modi will inaugurate various cultural, financial and social initiatives
PM Modi will inaugurate projects like the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul, a handicrafts trade facilitation centre and Utkarsh Bank, a bank specializing in micro-finance. He will also introduce the "Jal Ambulance" service and "Jal Shav Vahan," water-based ambulance service and service for carrying dead bodies, respectively. Further, he will flag off the country's third deluxe train Mahamana Express connecting Varanasi to Gujarat's Surat and Vadodara.
Which places will the PM visit in Varanasi?
The PM plans to visit Varanasi's Tulsi Manas Temple, where he will release a Ramayana postage stamp, and Durga Mata temple. In Shahanshahpur, after inaugurating the "Pashu Arogya Mela," he may distribute certificates to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries and loan waiver certificates to farmers.
PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation for infrastructure projects
The PM will inaugurate about 17 infrastructure projects including the Ramnagar-Samne Ghat bridge and the Balua Ghat bridge. Apart from this, the PM will lay the foundation for approximately six projects which include the Ramna Sewage Treatment Plant (STP); the water resources ministry has described it as "a major step forward in realizing the dream of Nirmal Ganga" under the Ganga Rejuvenation Mission.
What is the significance of PM's visit to Varanasi?
Varanasi's importance lies in it being PM Modi's constituency. In this visit, apart from showcasing development under his reign, Modi plans to connect with the people. He will meet about 700 Muslim women and will inaugurate a "community kitchen" near the Kashi Vishwanath temple. These efforts are towards building a dedicated voter-base that would stand by him when he contests 2019 LS elections.
