RaGa said Congress party of Muslims, claims Modi. Congress hits-back
What's the story
After Narendra Modi launched an attack on the Congress and its President Rahul Gandhi from a stage in Azamgarh, UP, the Grand Old Party said he was spreading lies sensing defeat in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP leader had asked whether Congress was only a "party of Muslim men," a remark he attributed to Gandhi, and stoked the triple talaq issue.

Not only RaGa, PM Modi attacked Manmohan Singh also
Modi claimed he had read that Gandhi had said the Congress was a party of Muslims.
"Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had also said that Muslims had the first claim to the natural resources of the country," Modi went on.
He then asked if Congress had a place for women too or was it a party of Muslim men only.

Meanwhile, cashing in on the opportunity he got, Modi said the BSP and SP didn't even want to look at each other earlier, but have now teamed up to stop development.
Notably, Azamgarh is an SP stronghold, with Mulayam Singh Yadav contesting from there. But now that Yadav Sr. has decided to contest from Mainpuri, BJP is looking to make inroads in the region.
