Govt. introduces five bills amidst Congress disruption in Lok Sabha
Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the second day today after Congress members made a ruckus over insinuations made by PM Modi against former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The Speaker adjourned the House till noon minutes after the House met. The House resumed session again at noon and managed to introduce five bills before it was adjourned again.
Congress MPs demand apology from PM Modi for his comments
Congress protests in the Lok Sabha were fuelled by a comment by PM Modi during the Gujarat election campaign wherein the Prime Minister had claimed that Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, Manmohan Singh, and other guests of Aiyar had discussed the Gujarat polls with former Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri, and the Pakistani High Commissioner to India. Congress MPs demanded an apology from Modi.

Despite disruptions, various standing committee reports and statements by ministers were tabled in the Lok Sabha, including the Supplementary Demand for Grants Second Batch 2017-2018 by Jaitley. Furthermore, five bills - The Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill, The National Council for Teacher Education (Amendment) Bill, The Payment Gratuity (Amendment) Bill, The Dentists (Amendment) Bill, and The Indian Forest (Amendment) Bill - were introduced.
