Not conceded any territory in the agreement with China: Government
India, on Friday, said it has not conceded any territory as a result of the agreement with China for disengagement of troops in the Pangong lake area. Ministry of Defence in a statement said, "The effective safeguarding of country's national interest and territory in the Eastern Ladakh sector has taken place because the government reposed full faith in the capabilities of the armed forces."
Indian territory is as depicted in the Indian map
"The assertion that Indian territory is up to Finger 4 is categorically false. The territory of India is as depicted by the map of India and includes more than 43,000 square km currently under illegal occupation of China since 1962," the statement said.
Permanent posts are longstanding and well-established
The ministry asserted that permanent posts of both sides at the north bank of Pangong Tso are longstanding and well-established. "On the Indian side, it is Dhan Singh Thapa Post near Finger 3 and on the Chinese side, east of Finger 8," the MoD said, adding the current agreement provides for cessation of forward deployment by both sides and continued deployment at these posts.
Important to counter certain instances of wrongly understood information: Statement
"The Line of Actual Control, as per the Indian perception, is at Finger 8, not Finger 4. India has persistently maintained the right to patrol up to Finger 8," the MoD said. The statement said the ministry has taken note of some misinformed and misleading comments being amplified regarding the disengagement, asserting that it is necessary to set the record straight.
'India has prevented any unilateral change in the status quo'
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday told Parliament that China will pull back its troops to east of Finger 8 areas in the northern bank of Pangong lake while the Indian personnel will be based at their permanent base at Dhan Singh Thapa Post near Finger 3 in the region. "India has enforced observance and respect for LAC," the statement said.
Rahul Gandhi made serious allegations against the government
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi questioned why the Prime Minister did not make a statement on the LAC situation and claimed that Singh "sheepishly" made a statement on the issue in both Houses of Parliament. "Why has he asked the Defence Minister to make the statement, the Prime Minister should say - I have given Indian land to China, this is the truth," he alleged.
BJP slams Rahul Gandhi for his attack on PM
Hitting back at Gandhi for his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the India-China border standoff, the BJP accused the Congress leader of lying and denigrating the country's security forces and said the nation will not forgive the Gandhi family for losing 43,000 square kilometers of land to China. "Rahul lied left, right, and center," Union minister Pralhad Joshi said.
No one will support Gandhi, not even his shadow: Joshi
"When one does not have a moral conscience, when one cannot contribute anything positive, one resorts to lies. Perhaps Rahul is depressed that he could not become PM. He can't digest the huge public mandate to PM Narendra Modi," Joshi said.

BJP slammed Gandhi family for losing land to China
"The nation cannot forgive the Gandhi family for losing 43,000 square kilometers of land to China. Pakistan has also illegally ceded 5,180 square kilometers of Indian territory in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to China," Joshi accused. In a tweet, BJP General Secretary CT Ravi said, "The Congress has finally realized that PM Nehru created a Himalayan Blunder by gifting 38,000 square kilometers land to China."
'History bears testimony to Congress' repeated attacks on country's sovereignty'
"Congress party breeds a culture of petty politics. Every member of the Gandhi family always leaves behind a legacy of misdeeds. History bears testimony to their repeated attacks on the sovereignty of the nation and unfortunately, India is the one to always suffer," Joshi said.
