What's the story
In a bid to fill vacancies and bring in fresh thoughts, the Modi government is set to induct nine new cabinet ministers on Sunday, right before PM Modi leaves for China to attend the 9th BRICS Summit.
The nine ministers include a former diplomat, a former police commissioner, bureaucrats, and members of the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha from several different states.

The new ministers will include former IAS officer Alphons Kannanthanam and former IFS officer Hardeep Puri.
Lok Sabha MPs Satya Pal Singh, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Veerendra Kumar, Ananth Kumar Hegde and Rajkumar Singh, and Rajya Sabha MP Shiv Pratap Shukla constitute the remaining seven new faces.
