Elections are won on perception: 5 leaders Modi should sack
The opposite of sadness is not happiness, but the opposite of darkness is light. May not be bright, orange light, but light. In a country where we are not spoilt for good leaders, Narendra Modi is the opposite of darkness. He is not a source of delight, but he represents hope - hope that the leaders can be incorruptible. He may lack execution skills, his promises remain unfulfilled, but one knows he can deliver, if only he surrounds himself with better people. Here are 5 leaders whom he should immediately sack.
Arun Jaitley: Can someone remind me his achievements?
Angrezo Bharat chodo, Jaitley BJP chodo! BJP is the party chosen by middle class, small traders and businessmen. So, more than anyone else, this party needs an exemplary Finance Minister, who can think out-of-box. And, what have they got - Mr. Arun Jaitley, who can't even think in the box? He should be questioned for demonetization fiasco (Modi should be too, when he decides to address media), GST's flawed implementation and the lack of jobs. His long Facebook posts can't be the answer, even Shashi Tharoor can do that.
Sushri Uma Bharti: We wanted Ganga clean, did she deliver?
Sushri Uma Bharti fights with BJP, claims that RSS supports her, floats her own party, joins back BJP - that's her whole career in a nutshell. She was appointed the Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, and held this office until September 2017. What did she achieve in three years, can someone tell me? And, while we are at it, Bharti should retire from politics altogether and become a full-time priest.
Prakash Javadekar: Less IITs, more correction
What rangoli is to HR in corporate, IITs is to HRD ministry in India. Whoever be the minister, all they ever do is announce more IITs. Modi's regime is no different. The irony is that BJP has been widely accused of saffronization, the gehua vantage point I look from, they have done everything except that. Last I heard, they wanted to change the name of ministry from 'resource' to 'education'. Our history books are plagued with factual errors, Mughals have been glorified unnecessarily and we know nothing about Hindu leaders. Spare a thought?
Smriti Irani: Why not use her as spokesperson?
I am an engineer-turned-media entrepreneur, I still consider myself an engineer first. Without being patronizing, I think same is the case with Ms. Smriti Irani. Her past record shows she can't run ministries, she doesn't have the required skill sets. Who wants to see her theatrics in Parliament? She can do all of that in front of media. With her strong oratory skills, dramatic acts and a splendid gift of repartee, she should replace Sambit Patra.
The ever increasing list of motor mouths
Without doubt, BJP is the most democratic party, has always been. Hence, we all appreciate the dissent within the party. But, who wants motor mouths? What have Shatrughan Sinha, Sambit 'dacoit' Patra or Yogi Adityanath contributed? Can someone stop them, pretty please?
Himself as chief campaigner: He should govern more
The PM Modi has become an employee of campaigner Modi. For the former to rise, the latter has to take a backseat. Why can't BJP win any election without shouting "Vote for Modi"? In any case, why does Modi have to participate in fancy dress competitions while campaigning for himself? While there is no formula to gauge electoral behavior, delivering on promises, setting the correct narrative should be the steps in the right direction. Is PM Modi listening?
