#CowPolitics: Kamal Nath promises gaushalas in MP-villages, if Congress wins
That cow has taken centerstage in Indian politics has been confirmed again with the statements of Madhya Pradesh Congress chief, Kamal Nath. Addressing a rally in Ganj Basoda town of Vidisha, Nath said if Congress came to power they would ensure there is a gaushala in every panchayat of the state. This promise, however, didn't go well with BJP, who called it a 'gimmick'.
BJP only talks about cows, does nothing on ground: Nath
Taking a dig at BJP, Nath said they spoke about cows a lot but on the ground did nothing to save them. "If Congress comes to power, a gaushala will be set up in panchayats across the state," he said. Apart from cows, he also touched the issue of joblessness in the rally and said he knows how it feels to be jobless.
Not an announcement, but promise: Nath
How many of you benefited from PM's schemes, asks Nath
"PM Narendra Modi announced a host of schemes such as 'Make In India', 'Startup India', 'Skill India', 'Digital India' and what not, but how many of you have benefited from it," Nath asked the crowd, after declaring BJP cheated youth of the country.
Nath's statements were called political gimmick by BJP
Obviously, the BJP's rebuttal was ready. Spokesperson Rajneesh Aggarwal claimed former CM Digvijaya Singh snatched land meant for cow grazing and gave it for illegal encroachment. Akhileshwaranand Giri, chairman of MP cow protection board, asked how would Congress run cow shelters while terming Nath's statements 'tactic to gain political mileage'. Giri said Congress alotted just Rs. 2 crore for cow protection.
