    What's the story

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took a dig at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress party's election slogan - "Khela Hobe" (Let's play).

PM Modi, while addressing a public rally in Bengal's Purulia on Thursday, said the Bharatiya Janata Party, on the other hand, wants to promote "Vikas" or development.

Here are more details on this.

    Details

'Didi bole khela hobe, BJP bole vikas hobe'

"Didi bole khela hobe, BJP bole chaakri hobe. Didi bole khela hobe, BJP bole vikas hobe. Didi bole khela hobe, BJP bole shiksha hobe...Khela shesh hobe, vikas aarambh hobe," PM Modi said in his speech in Purulia today.

"TMC is 'Transfer My Commission,' we believe in DBT - 'Direct Benefit Transfer (sic)," the Prime Minister further said.

    Quote

'Didi taking out her frustration on me'

"Bengal made up its mind long back. It's been saying 'Lok Sabha mein TMC half aur iss baar poori saaf.' Seeing this determination, Didi is taking out her frustration on me. But for us, she's a daughter like crores of daughters of India," he added.

    Speech

'TMC will be punished for 10 years of misrule'

PM Modi said the TMC government has given Purulia only water crisis, forced migration, and discrimination, adding that it will be punished for 10 years of corruption and misrule.

"Mamata Didi has not had a change of heart, it is the fear of defeat that has crept in. People of Bengal have a strong memory," he added in his speech.
