All highway projects will be completed in 3yrs: Nitin Gadkari
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Saturday said that all highway projects in the country will be completed within three years by his department. He added the target for road construction will be increased to 40kms a day. Gadkari also said that all required support will be given to the Ministry of Jal Shakti and river connectivity department. Road construction target to be increased to 40km per day
"We will complete all highway projects within three years," Gadkari said. "I will try to complete the target of constructing roads to 40 kilometers per day from the current 32 km per day target," he added.
Will plant 125cr trees equal to population of India: Gadkari
"I have done several works related to roads. We have decided that we will plant 125 crore trees equal to the population of India in the next three years. I couldn't do much in roadside amenities," Gadkari said. The minister was in Nagpur, his parliamentary constituency, where he had arrived on Saturday morning. He was sworn in as the Union Minister on Thursday.
PM Modi expects MSME department to help boost growth rate
Gadkari, who is also the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) Minister, said PM Narendra Modi expects the MSME department to help boost the growth rate. "Enterprises department is connected to growth rate and employment potential and the Prime Minister expects our growth rate to increase because of the same. I will do a lot of hard work to fulfill his expectations," he said.
