Mayawati dumps Congress, says mistakes haven't taught them anything
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, BSP chief Mayawati lambasted the Congress and said the party has not learned from its past mistakes. Mayawati, who was seen as a key player in Mahagathbandhan of Opposition parties, alleged Congress leaders like Digvijaya Singh didn't want a grand alliance as they were scared of agencies like Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Digvijaya Singh is an RSS agent, claims Mayawati
In an all-out attack on Congress, Mayawati called Digvijaya Singh an RSS agent. "Digvijaya Singh who is also a BJP agent is giving statements that Mayawati Ji has a lot of pressure from Centre so she doesn't want this alliance. This is baseless," she said. She, further, said BSP will fight Assembly elections on its own in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
No alliance with Congress, clarifies Mayawati
Mayawati slammed Congress's communalism, says nothing done for downtrodden
Congress wants to destroy BSP in the pretext of the grand alliance, the BSP chief claimed. She went on to say Congress had ruled this country for years on votes of Dalits, Muslims and the minorities, but like BJP they haven't done anything for them. Mayawati came down heavily at the communalism which Congress displayed. She said nothing has been done to elevate the status of the downtrodden.
No position can deviate me from my goal: Mayawati
Mayawati then said BSP was the only party which worked for the downtrodden. She praised Dr Balasaheb Ambedkar. She appreciated her mentor Kanshi Ram for building a party in a state like UP on the ideals of Dr Ambedkar. "No position or chair can deviate me from my goal," Mayawati said, and spoke about her resignations from CM and Rajya Sabha posts in the past.
