Manoj Tiwari leads protest against Arvind Kejriwal over Rafale remarks
Delhi's BJP chief Manoj Tiwari loves taking out protests, even if they are irrelevant and don't affect the common man. Today, the actor-turned-politician took out a rally against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the latter's remarks on Rafale deal. Similar protests were held against Congress after Supreme Court gave clean chit to the Centre. What's the point of this protest anyway?
Buoyed by SC verdict, BJP took out countrywide protests
SC has dismissed pleas seeking review on its earlier order that said it was satisfied with how the deal for 36 Rafale jets was signed with France. Subsequently, BJP asked former Congress President Rahul Gandhi to apologize, since he was the one who led the attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Notably, AAP had also asked the Centre to come clean, back then.
Tiwari took to Delhi's streets demanding Kejriwal's apology
Following his party's stand, Tiwari led a group of BJP workers in Delhi. As he moved around in an open vehicle, he raised slogans and asked Kejriwal to apologize. Delhi's CM had, in February, called for an investigation and even asked agencies to make necessary arrests. Slamming him, Tiwari said attempts were made to "malign the image" of PM Modi.
Separately, in Kolkata, Rahul's posters were defaced
Similar protests were held across the nation. In Kolkata, for example, BJP workers defaced Rahul's posters and demanded an apology. Yesterday, BJP general secretary Bhupender Yadav, while informing about his party's plans had said, "They (Congress) have been lying through their teeth. A CAG report and now Supreme Court's verdict on review petition in government's favor shows how baseless the allegations were."

Interestingly, Kejriwal and Tiwari's banter isn't new
With Delhi poised for elections next year, Tiwari is leaving no chance to slam Kejriwal. When asked about pollution, he said yesterday, "Kejriwal is trying to hide his mistakes, but he will not be able to. If MLAs are responsible for Delhi, then why don't you (Kejriwal) quit?" He also defended his colleague Gautam Gambhir, who was slammed for missing a meeting on pollution.
If Kejriwal can't, how can Gambhir, asked Tiwari
"For 5 years, Kejriwal has not done anything and in just one day Gambhir will curb pollution? Let's come in power. In just 4 months, BJP will come to power in Delhi and we will curb pollution in just 2.5 years," Tiwari reportedly said.
