BJP leaders sip tea with voters over 'Mann Ki Baat'
To lure voters ahead of Gujarat elections, the BJP has combined characteristics of two of its popular initiatives- 'Mann Ki Baat' and 'Chai Pe Charcha'- to come up with 'Mann Ki Baat, Chai Ke Saath'. Top BJP leaders will interact with voters over a cup of tea across over 50,000 booths. This comes a day before PM Narendra Modi launches a series of rallies.
These elections are crucial for the BJP
The upcoming Gujarat election on December 9 and 14 is a prestige battle for the BJP, which faces 20+ years of anti-incumbency. It has pulled out all stops to ensure a victory, including wooing about 14 Congress rebels and scheduling no less than 50 public meetings with the PM. This is the first time it is contesting Gujarat without Modi at the helm.
In Gujarat, you can have tea with these top leaders
On November 26, BJP chief Amit Shah listened to Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' on radio in the "sensitive" Dariapur of Ahmedabad and discussed development agendas of the party with voters. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley did the same in Sabarmati; Railways Minister Piyush Goyal was in Porbandar; I&B Minister Smriti Irani was in Junagarh and Paresh Rawal was in Rajkot.

Jaitley slams Pakistan, Rawal hits out at Congress
Speaking to people, Jaitley slammed Pakistani for releasing 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed two days of the attacks' ninth anniversary. Rawal, meanwhile, accused Congress of dividing communities on caste lines and lauded BJP and Modi for fighting for development constantly.
A series of rallies to kickstart on the same day
The same day, the BJP will launch its carpet-bombing campaign, inaugurated by Amit Shah from Shuklatirth in Bharuch. During the next two days, party leaders will address a number of rallies in various places. Yogi Adityanath, Devendra Fadanvis, Nirmala Sitharaman, Dharmendra Pradhan, JP Nadda, Piyush Goyal and more will address people. Modi will himself address a number of rallies starting November 27.
