Man who accused KCR of corruption killed before court appearance
What's the story
N Rajalingamurthy, a man in his 50s who had earlier accused former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of corruption, was found murdered in Jayashankar Bhupalpally town on Wednesday night.
The incident happened a day before a court hearing in connection with his allegations against Rao.
According to police reports, Rajalingamurthy was stabbed to death by two unidentified men when he was riding his motorcycle around 7:30pm.
Investigation underway
Police rule out political motives, suspect land dispute
Authorities have ruled out any political angle behind the murder and instead hinted at a possible land dispute angle.
"We suspect that a land dispute could be the motive. Murthy had land disputes with a few local persons," Deputy SP Sampath Rao said.
Special police teams are now probing the case further.
Legal battle
Rajalingamurthy's corruption allegations against former CM
In October 2023, Rajalingamurthy had filed a private complaint against Rao and others, alleging corruption in the construction of the Medigadda barrage as part of the Kaleshwaram project.
He alleged public funds were misappropriated after some piers of the barrage sank.
After police refused to register an FIR on his complaint, he approached a local court, and the case eventually reached the Telangana High Court.

High court suspends order against Rao
However, Rao and former minister T Harish Rao had challenged Rajalingamurthy's case in court.
In December last year, the Telangana High Court suspended an order allowing the petition against them.
Notably, Rajalingamurthy had joined Congress before the 2023 assembly elections, and his wife Sarala is a former councilor in the Bhupalapally municipality.
