Know the net worth of Shiv Sena scion Aaditya Thackeray
Young gun Aaditya Thackeray has formally stepped into the poll arena by filing his nomination from Worli assembly constituency of Maharashtra. The son of Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav, Aaditya is the first member of Thackeray family to contest polls. Undoubtedly, Sena wanted to make his nomination a "big deal", hence, a massive roadshow took place before he submitted his documents. Here's what went down.
Before roadshow, Aaditya sought blessings from grandfather
In the morning, Aaditya shared a picture on Twitter where he was seen bowing in reverence in front of a portrait of his grandfather and Sena founder Bal Thackeray. Since Balasaheb started the right-wing political party five decades ago, none of his family members contested polls, marking Aaditya's entry a new era in the clan. Dozens of Sena workers gathered at Thackeray home "Matoshree".
Sena loyalists cheered for the new leader
Aaditya's journey towards BMC Engineering Hub in Worli started from Sena's office in Lower Parel. As he took out a roadshow in an open vehicle in Mumbai's heart, innumerable Sena workers cheered for him. Most of them carried party flags. The 29-year-old, who wore a white shirt for the occasion, said, "I am very happy, you can see the love of the people."
Sena showed its strength via roadshow
BJP leader also reached collector's office to support Aaditya
Aaditya's father Uddhav was by his side when he filed his nomination. Interestingly, Mumbai BJP chief Mangal Prabhat Lodha also came to collector's office, to show the party is supporting Sena. To note, after years of playing "big brother" in the alliance in Maharashtra, Sena conceded this time and settled to fight from fewer seats. BJP got 164 seats and Sena 124.
Aaditya had a smart response when asked about becoming CM
When Aaditya was asked by a journalist if he is talking to the next Chief Minister, the young leader replied with a smile, "You are talking to someone who will always serve the state." It's expected that he will win easily from Worli, which is a Sena stronghold. With NCP's Sachin Ahir joining Sena recently, Aaditya essentially faces no opposition.
His worth more than Rs. 16 crore
As per reports, the Thackeray scion is worth a little over Rs. 16 crore. He has movable assets worth Rs 11.38 crore and immovable ones worth Rs. 4.67 crore. He had over Rs. 13,000 cash in hand. The BMW car, which he owns, has a worth of Rs. 6.5 lakh. In his election affidavit, he mentioned there are no criminal cases against him.
