Congress' MPCC chief Mahadev Shelar commits suicide
Congress spokesperson and Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief Advocate Mahadev Shelar reportedly committed suicide today; he was found hanging at his Mulund residence in Mumbai. When found, he was immediately rushed to the Fortis Hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead. The police had also reached there for interrogation. Who was Mahadev Shelar?
The 64-year old MPCC chief, Mahadev Shelar was a loyal Congressman, who had many academic degrees to his credit; he was known to be calm. He had staunchly defended the Congress when the opposition lambasted it for its poor performance. He had also held the chairmanship of the Mumbai District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd and presidentship of Mumbai cooperative society.
