What's the story

After getting convicted in the fodder scam case by a special CBI court on Saturday, RJD chief and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav was put in the same upper division jail cell where he stayed after his 2013 conviction.

According to sources, Yadav will get VIP treatment in prison and other inmates will not be allowed to visit him during his stay.

Lalu Prasad's entitlements during his prison tenure

In his upper division cell in Ranchi's Birsa Munda Central Prison, Lalu Prasad Yadav will be entitled to a mosquito net, a daily newspaper, television, and home cooked food.

The ex-CM will also have the option of cooking his own food.

The former railway minister had undergone a heart surgery in 2014, and therefore has several diet restrictions, said Annapurna Devi of the RJD.
