What's the story

Lalu Prasad Yadav's mega 'BJP Bhagao Desh Bachao' rally looked like a Mahagathbandhan rally with opposition displaying unity.

Political honchos like Mamata Banerjee, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Akhilesh Yadav attended it.

Rebel JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav and suspended JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Ali Anwar were also present at the rally that was attended by thousands of people.

Information

Lalu's 'BJP Bhagao Desh Bachao' rally

Lalu's rally gets few jolts: Sonia, Rahul, Mayawati absent

While Lalu wants to go all guns blazing in his 'BJP Bhagao, Desh Bachao' rally, he has suffered some heavy setbacks.

Rahul and Sonia Gandhi skipped the rally due to the corruption charges faced by Lalu's family.

Previously, Mayawati had chosen to skip the event to avoid sharing stage with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, her arch rival.

Is rally in the flood-hit Bihar a good idea?

The JD(U) lashed against Lalu Prasad Yadav for organizing a rally when the state is riling from floods.

Lalu, in turn, blamed Nitish for the state of Bihar.

He said Nitish Kumar administration "has failed to provide any help to the 1.5 million people affected by the flood" and had become insensitive to the problems of the people.
