Kejriwal will attend swearing-in ceremony of Kumaraswamy as Karnataka's CM
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy as the CM of Karnataka. Kumaraswamy is visiting the national capital today to meet Congress President Rahul Gandhi and the party's senior leader Sonia Gandhi for a discussion on allocation of ministerial berths. Kumaraswamy is set to take his oath as the new chief minister on May 23.
Yeddyurappa had stepped down as the CM on Saturday
On Saturday, BS Yeddyurappa had stepped-down as the Chief Minister without facing the floor test in the State Assembly as the BJP fell short of numbers. Kumaraswamy then met the state Governor and said he had been invited to form the government. The May 12 Karnataka polls threw up a hung assembly, with the BJP emerging as the single-largest party with 104 seats.
Kejriwal invited by former Prime Minister Deve Gowda
"Kejriwal will attend HD Kumarswamy's oath taking ceremony. He has been invited by former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda," an official said.
