#KarnatakaBypolls: BJP wins one seat; Congress-JD(S) alliance strong
What's the story
The results of the Karnataka bypolls are out, and the BJP have not made any significant dent on the Congress-JD(S) alliance in the state.
Of the five positions - two Assembly constituencies and three Lok Sabha seats - up for grabs, the BJP has managed to win only one, while the Congress and JD(S) have recorded resounding victories in the others.

Lok Sabha
Congress-JD(S) wins two out of three Lok Sabha seats
Among the three Lok Sabha seats which were up for grabs, state BJP chief B S Yedyurappa's son, B Y Raghavendra, managed to win the Shivamogga seat by a margin of 52,148 votes.
The remaining two seats - Ballari and Mandya - were won by Congress candidate VS Ugruppa and JD(S) LR Shivaramegowda with margins of over 2.4 lakh and 3.2 lakh votes respectively.
Assembly seats
Congress-JD(S) wins both Assembly constituencies
The Assembly constituency of Jamkhandi was won by Congress candidate A S Nyamagouda on a comfortable margin on 39,480 votes.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's wife, Anitha Kumaraswamy, won the Ramanagaram Assembly constituency with a margin of 109,137 votes.
The polls, which took place on Saturday, had seen a 67% voter turnout.
