Karnataka Result: Congress-JD(S) opportunistic alliance now blaming BJP for poaching
What's the story
The Congress-JD(S) alliance, that came together after the fractured mandate in Karnataka elections, have now alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to poach its legislators.
Further, Congress leader DK Shivakumar said they are planning to move their MLAs to a resort following a legislative party meeting saying, "We have to safeguard our MLAs."

Quid pro quo
Congress and the JD(S): Coming together of opposite poles
Poles apart, both the Congress and the JD(S) had claimed they would form the government on their own in Karnataka.
On the other hand, even after winning 104 seats, BJP hasn't managed the halfway mark of 112 seats.
Now, Congress and JD(S) with 78 and 37 seats respectively, formed a post-poll alliance after Congress promised the Chief Ministership to H.D. Kumaraswamy.

The alliance was also forged, keeping in view 2019 Lok Sabha elections, which both the parties would be fighting together. With the BJP too betting to form the Karnataka government, the road to power for the alliance in Karnataka would be anything but easy.
