Karnataka Elections: BJP manifesto promises waiver of farm loans
Reaching out to farmers, the BJP manifesto for the Karnataka Assembly polls today promised allocation of Rs. 1.5 lakh crore for irrigation projects and waiver of farm loans up to Rs. 1L borrowed from nationalized and cooperative banks. The manifesto was unveiled by the party's CM candidate, BS Yeddyurappa. Over 3 lakh people and experts had been consulted in preparing the manifesto, BJP said.
Rs. 25,000, 3 grams of gold for BPL category brides
Yeddyurappa also said if voted to power, it would bring out a "white paper" on the financial health of Karnataka under the Congress rule. A scheme to provide Rs. 25,000 and 3 grams of gold for brides coming under BPL category during the marriage and opening of "Annapoorna Canteens" has been promised. "Go Seva Ayog" for cow protection would also be revived, BJP said.
Karnataka assembly polls will be held on May 12
Polls for the 224-member Karnataka State Assembly will be held on May 12 and the counting of votes will be taken up on May 15.
