Congress candidate from North East Delhi, Kanhaiya Kumar, met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, on Wednesday. The meeting came amid several resignations within the Delhi Congress over the party's alliance with the AAP. On Tuesday, former MLAs Neeraj Basoya and Naseeb Singh resigned from the Congress, expressing their opposition to the party's alliance with the AAP. Their resignations were preceded by the resignation of Delhi Congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely from his post. While Lovely also mentioned the alliance, he voiced dissatisfaction with the party for nominating "total stranger" Kumar in his resignation letter.

"We are with them every step of the way in this fight. We will all fight this battle to save democracy together." The former JNU Students' Union President also met AAP MLA Sanjay Singh at his residence and discussed the election strategy in Delhi.
