According to him, a person's worth is decided by their qualities, not by caste, religion, or gender.
Gadkari said he would adhere to this even at the cost of his electoral prospects.
He reminisced about once declaring at a public gathering: "Jo karega jaat ki baat, usko kas ke marunga laat," ("Anyone who talks about caste will get a hard kick from me.")

Gadkari, former BJP president and three-time MP from Nagpur, is presently the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways.
His ministry has received much public support for its work in improving road infrastructure across India.
At a recent convocation ceremony at Central India Group of Institutions in Nagpur, he again spoke of his belief that greatness comes from qualities, not caste or religion.

Despite the possible electoral consequences, Gadkari is firm in his opposition to caste-based politics.
He said he would stand by the principles and practice it, no matter the cost to his politics.
"My friends told me I may face setbacks due to this stand. But I am not concerned about it," he said.
"Does anyone die if he loses an election? I will stick to my principles and practice them in my life."

Gadkari emphasized the significance of education, saying it not only helps individuals and their families but also leads to dthe evelopment of the society and the country.
He recounted his own journey, saying despite having 12 DLitt, he doesn't use 'Dr' as a title since he couldn't qualify for engineering.
He is an expert in commerce and business management as well as holds records related to civil engineering and agriculture science.
