Now, Ram Jethmalani approaches SC against Karnataka's Governor decision
Senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani, on Thursday, approached the Supreme Court, challenging Karnataka Governor Vajubhai's decision to invite BJP's Yeddyurappa to form the government. Jethmalani said by doing so, the Governor has openly invited corruption. He has approached the SC in his personal capacity. Yeddyurappa took oath as the 23rd CM of Karnataka earlier today, despite winning only 104 seats in the elections held recently.

"The governor's order is a gross abuse of the constitutional power and this has brought disrepute to the constitutional office he has been holding," said Ram Jethmalani in his plea. He maintained he did not come in support or against any party. CJI Dipak Misra accepted his submission. He has directed three-judge special bench who heard the matter on Wednesday night, to re-assemble tomorrow.

How it transpired: Overnight-hearing followed after Congress knocked SC's door
The gridlock of a verdict in Karnataka elections led to unprecedented political scenes in the country. After Vajubhai Vala invited Yeddyurappa, Congress approached the SC for a rare overnight hearing to stop the ceremony. Though the apex court didn't stall the swearing-in ceremony, it asked for a letter of support Yeddyurappa gave to Governor and fixed Friday as the next date for the hearing.
