Less than 24 hours before Gujarat polls, BJP releases manifesto
Less than 24 hours before Gujaratis will exercise their right to vote, BJP has released its manifesto. Everyone's curiosity had piqued as despite a high-octane campaign, BJP had failed to release it till the last moment. Congress released its manifesto earlier this week promising sops for farmers and quotas for Patidars. BJP had earlier asserted people have seen the development it can bring about.
Jaitley: Gujarat's growth rate is highest in India
The Sankalp Patra (Vision document) was released by Law Minister Ravi Shankar and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Jaitley claimed Gujarat's economy is fastest growing among all states. He declared that since last five years, Gujarat's average growth rate has been consistent at 10%. He quoted the manifesto, saying BJP will continue this growth rate and keep the entire state united.
Jaitley also slammed Congress' manifesto
Jaitley attacked Congress' manifesto saying whatever is being promised by Congress is "constitutionally instable and financially improbable." He exclaimed that "the Congress manifesto has added just 1.21L crore to the revenue of the state, while the revenue of Gujarat is just around Rs. 90,000cr." Jaitley was referring to Patidar reservations and sops for farmers, women, college students proposed by the Congress.
Ironically, Rahul Gandhi mocked BJP for releasing manifesto in "haste"!
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP for being disrespectful towards Gujaratis by not releasing the manifesto. After the release, Rahul mocked BJP at a rally saying because Congress raised questions about the manifesto, BJP "hastily" prepared it and Jaitley released it. He added "otherwise why do they need it when they think they're going to govern here for 100 years? Such is their arrogance."
Bookies place high bets on BJP win in Gujarat
