In a major reshuffle, the Center has announced the appointment of new Governors in six states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Nagaland, and Tripura, on Saturday.
Madhya Pradesh Governor and former Gujarat Chief Minister, Anandiben Patel, has been transferred and appointed as the new Governor of Uttar Pradesh, replacing Ram Naik, according to a communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Details
Lal Ji Tandon to replace Anandiben as Madhya Pradesh Governor
Lal Ji Tandon, who has been serving as the Governor of Bihar, has now been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, replacing Anandiben, according to a notification from President Ram Nath Kovind's office.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh's Ghosi, Phagu Chauhan, will be succeeding Tandon as the new Governor of Bihar.

While two Governors have been transferred, new Governors have been appointed in four states. "The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices," said the Rashtrapati Bhavan in its communique.

Jagdeep Dhankhar appointed as new Governor of West Bengal
Senior Supreme Court advocate and former MP, Jagdeep Dhankhar, has been appointed as the new Governor of West Bengal, said the Rashtrapati Bhavan release. He will be replacing Keshari Nath Tripathi.
Senior BJP leader and former Union minister, Ramesh Bais, has been appointed as the new Tripura Governor. The former Raipur MP will replace Kaptan Singh Solanki.
Nagaland
RN Ravi to replace Padmanabha Acharya as Nagaland Governor
RN Ravi, the Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA), has been appointed as the new Governor of Nagaland, replacing Padmanabha Acharya.
Notably, he was the chief interlocutor for the Naga peace talks. He is a 1976-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Kerala cadre who retired in 2012 as Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau.

Last week, two BJP leaders were appointed as the new Governors of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. BJP leader and former Odisha Minister, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, was appointed the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, replacing ESL Narasimhan, while Anusuiya Uikey was appointed as the Chhattisgarh Governor.
