Goa: Role of regional parties in politics cannot be undermined
The regional parties in the BJP-led Goa government today said their importance cannot be undermined in politics. "You can't wish away the regional parties," said Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai. The comments came two days after BJP chief Amit Shah said the party aimed to win in at least 35 out of the total 40 seats in the next Goa elections. Here's more.
We have a dream of winning 18 seats: MGP Chief
Maharashtrawadi Gowmantak Party (MGP) chief Dipak Dhavalikar said that while Shah dreams to win 35 seats, the regional parties also dream to win 18 seats in the next Goa Assembly polls. He said regional parties have always gained a "sizeable share" of seats in the Goa elections, adding, "There are at least eight to nine seats which will always remain with the regional parties."
