Goa BJP-MLA fears CBI raids if he spoke against party
BJP MLA and former Deputy CM Francis D'Souza, who returned to Panaji yesterday after undergoing treatment in US, claimed that he might face raids from central agencies if he spoke against his own party. "For the last twenty years, I haven't been in wrong news. I don't know what'll happen from tomorrow," said D'Souza, who was law minister in Goa Cabinet before being dropped.
I also may get booked under National Security Act: D'Souza
Citing the example of an ex-minister in the earlier Laxmikant Parsekar government who was raided by the I-T department after he spoke against the party, D'Souza said he feared for his future. He added like the minister, he also might get raided by I-T, CBI, ED, or even booked under National Security Act. Earlier, D'Souza had resented the decision of removing him from the Cabinet.
"It may come to me also. Have to be ready"
"I-T department had conducted a search on former sports minister Ramesh Tawadkar. Parsekar had also received an I-T notice, and it may come to me also. I have to be ready," said D'Souza. Goa BJP Chief Vinay Tendulkar couldn't be contacted for his comments.
