Exit polls predict BJP comeback in Delhi after 27 years

Delhi cast its vote for the 70 assembly seats on Wednesday.
To form a government in the national capital, a political party needs to win 36 seats out of the 70.
Now, how many seats a party could potentially win is predicted by pollsters based on the electorate's mood.
Pollsters Peoples Pulse and and People's Insight have predicted a win for BJP, with the former predicting 51-60 seats for the saffron party and the latter 40-44 seats.

Big setback for AAP, as per exit polls
In comparison, the AAP is expected to win just 25-29 seats, as per People's Insight predictions.
JVC has also predicted a win for the BJP—39-45 seats against the AAP's 22-31 seats.
Like the others, NDTV's poll of polls has also predicted a win for the BJP. It predicted the BJP to win 41 seats; AAP 28.
When it comes to the Congress party, majority of the pollsters have predicted it to win just 1-2 seats.

DV Research has also predicted a win for the BJP—36-44 seats, and 26-34 seats for the AAP. It predicted the Congress to win zero seat.

If the BJP wins, it will be the first after nearly three decades.
The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal, is hoping to return to power for the third consecutive time, with the party boss predicting confidence in winning a whopping 55 seats.
The Congress party, which was once a force to reckon with under Sheila Dikshit's leadership, is also in the fray.
The official results of Delhi Assembly elections will be announced on February 8.

AAP's back-to-back landslide victories
In 2015 and 2020 elections, the AAP won 67 out of 70 seats and 62 seats, respectively, in back-to-back landslides.
Compared to 2015 when it won just three seats, the BJP saw a slight improvement in 2020, winning eight seats, while the Congress did not win any.
The Congress was once again wiped out in the 2020 election too.
