Outgoing Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj was visibly emotional as he addressed his supporters after his defeat from the Greater Kailash Assembly seat.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader lost to Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Shikha Roy by a margin of 3,188 votes.
In a widely circulated video on social media, Bharadwaj is seen struggling to hold back tears as he expressed pride in his supporters' efforts.

Emotional address
Bharadwaj addresses supporters post-defeat
In his address to supporters, Bharadwaj said that he has accepted defeat.
However, he confessed that seeing his supporters getting emotional had touched him deeply.
"I was taking it in the spirit of sportsmanship, but when I saw people crying, I became emotional too," he said.
The video clip of his address has been widely shared on social media platforms.

BJP dominates Delhi Assembly polls
Bharadwaj had represented the Greater Kailash seat since 2013 before being ousted by BJP's Roy.
The BJP registered a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly polls, winning 48 out of 70 seats.
Meanwhile, the AAP's seat count fell to 22 from previous victories of 62 seats in 2020 and 67 seats in 2015.
The Congress party also failed to win any seats for the third consecutive time.
