Exit polls had already predicted a dismal performance for the Congress, forecasting a third consecutive wipeout in Delhi.

Congress's decline in Delhi: A historical perspective
The Congress's downfall in Delhi started with the emergence of the AAP in 2013.
That year, the AAP's debut decimated Congress's seats from 43 to eight, along with a massive drop in vote share.
By the 2015 and 2020 elections, the party couldn't even win a single seat and witnessed its vote share nosedive further.
