DMK likely to nominate Kamal Haasan to Rajya Sabha: Reports
What's the story
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is reportedly considering nominating actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan for a Rajya Sabha seat.
The development comes after Tamil Nadu Minister PK Sekar Babu met Haasan at his residence on Wednesday.

DMK is part of the INDIA bloc.

Haasan's role in DMK's victory and Stalin's promise
During the election campaign, Haasan was instrumental in the DMK's victory, helping the party win all 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.
Reportedly, Chief Minister MK Stalin had promised Haasan a Rajya Sabha seat in return for his support.
This promise could be fulfilled soon as six Rajya Sabha seats are likely to fall vacant in June 2025.
