One man, many failures: Presenting to you Shri Narendra Modi
No one will ever attach the word failure with Narendra Modi. The man has a cult following, his followers are ready to take any bullet (quite literally) for him, he has an incredible list of highest civilian awards from many nations. And, he keeps winning elections. He has rendered the Opposition futile, and turned every situation in his favor. Yet, failure is the word we chose for him today. Here's why.
Let's start from Economy, no one knows what's happening
Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was asked if the current economic slowdown was because of cyclical or structural factor. "It may be both, may not be both," Sitharaman said. "I don't have the luxury of sitting and looking at which way it's going." That's how clueless she is. But, she isn't the problem, he is. He chose her, he ignored the early signs of slowdown, he brought demonetization and the ill-conceived GST.
Now, they don't even talk about roads and infrastructure
From 2014-2019, every time Modi government was questioned on "Vikas", their knight in shining armor was Nitin Gadkari. From undersea tunnel to ethanol-based public transport, he showed us many dreams. The reality, now is a diesel-run generator charging an electric bus, in Maharashtra, no less. But, that's not the most tragically comic part. In August'19, PMO wrote to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) urging it to discontinue constructing road. Reason? The financial stress of NHAI.
Modi's ministers are emulating him by lying loudly
Singe use plastic ban, you said? Sensitization, he said
After economy and infrastructure, let's talk about the other cause close to Modiji's heart: Environment. He is a master of glib - it leads to cheers and claps globally, and confusion back home. Ask the plastic industry, for one! From ramparts of Lal Qila on Independence Day, he spoke about waging a war against single-use plastic. But, after much brouhaha, the government said they are planning to "sensitize public" and not impose a ban. Khoda pahad, nikli chuhiya, Khattar ji?
Bolo mere sang, Jai Hind, Jai Hind
And, the long lost Hindutva cause
Now, the deal is no sensible person, anyway, bought the Vikas dream after 2 years of Modi 1.0. We all established how farce it was, and at some level, made peace with it. But, the biggest heartburn is the way Modi dealt with Hindutva cause. That a Kamlesh Tiwari gets killed in broad daylight and his supporters question liberals and not the (Un)Yogi Adityanath is atrocious. That a DGP asserts that the murderers were radicalized by Tiwari's speech is beyond redemption. RIP, Savarkar. You deserved a better legacy.
Beti Bachao from Sengar, Chinmayanand and Monserrate
While India is being metaphorically raped by Modi's half-baked policies, his leaders are actually RAPING India's daughters. From Sengar, Chinmayanand to Monserrate, you name it. One is also mighty disappointed by the way Modi has inducted (alleged) rapists, criminals, murderers in his party.
"Ram teri Ganga saaf nahi hui"
For all his tall promises, Modi and Co. couldn't clean Ganga, one bit. Modi, who claimed he was Ganga's beta, used her for shutterbugs (any resemblance with the real mother is purely coincidental) and ended up betraying her. The ghats are as dirty, the roads are under-constructed, even the awareness levels amongst the locals remain the same. Can the real Gadkari stand up now?
The campaigner-in-chief is busy giving bhashans
Amidst all the chaos, the man remains unperturbed. He knows he can win elections, his political acumen is unquestionable, his oratory skills are top-notch, his passion is indomitable, and his supporters are many. But by now he has broken many a hearts, many a promises.
