Delhi polls: 2 CMO employees detained with ₹5L cash
What's the story
Two employees of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi's office were detained on Tuesday after they were found with ₹5 lakh cash.
The two men, Gaurav and Ajit, were detained by police after they received a tip-off. Gaurav is reportedly Atishi's personal assistant.
The Flying Squad Team (FST) seized the cash and handed over the men to police for further investigation.

Police confirm detention, Congress alerts Election Commission
Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar Singh confirmed the detention and cash seizure.
"We received a call about people being caught with ₹5 lakh. Our team reached the spot, and the FST handed over two men, namely Gaurav and Ajit," Singh said.
The source of the money is under investigation by police.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Congress has alerted the Election Commission, alleging this incident is an attempt by AAP to influence election results.

FIR filed against Atishi, AAP denies allegations
An FIR was filed against Atishi for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct and obstructing public servants.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi accused Atishi of distributing money, questioning her actions in a social media post.
However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has denied these allegations, calling it a conspiracy by BJP to defame them before elections.

Detained individuals claim money was for booth management
The District Election Officer/DM South-East Delhi said Gaurav alleged the money was for booth management in Giri Nagar, KalkaJi.
However, Gaurav also said the cash was personal and pertained to a house sale.
He offered proof of his claim to India Today TV.
Police investigations revealed Gaurav's contact with Atishi's PA, Pankaj, discussing money distribution using code words.

Voting commences in Delhi amid tight security
Voting has begun in all 70 constituencies of Delhi under tight security. The AAP is hoping for a third consecutive term against BJP and Congress challengers.
Over 1.56 crore voters will choose among 699 candidates, with results expected on February 8.
