Game on! Yeddyurappa accepts Siddaramaiah's open-debate challenge
What's the story
In a quick turn of events, BJP's CM candidate of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa has accepted the open-debate challenge of incumbent Congress CM Siddaramaiah.
Taking a dig on Siddaramaiah, Yeddyurappa tweeted, "Let's debate, Let us debate turning Lokayukta powerless, farmers' suicide, sand mafia and honest officers' transfer."
On Monday, Siddaramaiah's open-debate challenge was advertised in local Kannadiga newspapers, which he also tweeted.

"Modi is also welcome"
While throwing the challenge to Mr. Yeddyurappa, CM Siddaramaiah tweeted, "PM Modi is deliberately confusing Karnataka voters with his bombastic speeches on non-issues. All hot air & no substance."
At the same time, he also wrote his contest is "not with him (Modi)", but only with with Yeddyurappa but said Modi is also welcome.
Doubtful
Will Indians experience American-style showdown?
Any Indian who follows American politics has dreamed to see a showdown of open-debates between politicians.
Though we always look up to USA for its developmental genius, we haven't really caught up with their democratic brilliance.
For e.g. when Arvind Kejriwal challenged Kiran Bedi during 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, she dodged it calling it a "drama".
Nevertheless, let's hope the Kannadigas set a benchmark.
