Celebrations at BJP headquarters as early trends show party leading
What's the story
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently ahead in the Delhi Assembly elections, crossing the majority mark with 43 seats at 10:30am.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) follows with 27 seats, while the Congress is yet to open its account.
The development has triggered celebrations among BJP supporters outside their party headquarters in Delhi.

Party perspective
AAP leaders view election as 'toughest battle'
Key AAP leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, are behind their BJP rivals in several constituencies.
However, Atishi hopes the people of Delhi will support the party that worked tirelessly for them.
Exit polls had predicted a BJP win, possibly ending AAP's 11-year rule in Delhi. The polls predicted 35-60 seats for BJP and 32-37 for AAP.
If the trends continue, BJP could return to power in Delhi after 27 years.

The last BJP CM was Sushma Swaraj in 1998, before Congress took over under Sheila Dikshit till 2013.
The counting of votes started at 8:00am at 19 locations in Delhi under tight security.
About 1.5 crore eligible voters participated in the election across 13,766 polling stations.
A total of 699 candidates, including 603 men and 96 women, contested in the elections.
