#RoadTo2019: For amplifying voter-outreach, BJP plans to set 200 call-centers
To amplify its voter outreach, BJP plans to set up 200 call centers ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, HT reports. One of the leaders familiar with the plan said 543 parliamentary constituencies will be divided into groups and each one will have two or three constituencies. At the dedicated call centers, party workers will seek feedback about probable candidates, events and more.
What will happen at the call centers
Apart from the aforementioned objectives, the party workers will also get in touch with the beneficiaries of several government schemes to secure support and will listen to their grievances. BJP national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav is responsible for the outreach. Reportedly, 20 such call centers have already been established in various states. Each call center will have 12-15 trained professionals.
Booths will be divided this time
Reportedly, the suggestions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be passed to the party's district units. In 2014, BJP scripted history by winning 282 seats and 171.7 million votes. Now, BJP wants to reach out to 330 million-plus voters. The booths will also be divided in A, B, C and D categories, with A being booth where maximum votes were cast in BJP's favor.
Separately, Shah has chalked out plans for 2019
BJP President Amit Shah has also chalked out a 'booth action plan'. As per this plan, workers have to prepare a list of voters having smartphones. At least five motorbike-riding party workers will be deployed at each booth. Workers have been asked to contact temples and priests and poach workers of rival parties to BJP. Shah will create party units for each polling station.
