Foreign cows are 'aunties', says BJP's Dilip Ghosh
Much has been said, written, and joked about BJP's obsession with cows. But has the ridicule stopped its leaders from making bizarre comments? Of course not. The latest BJP leader to pass comments on cows is West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh. On Monday, he reportedly said desi cows have gold in their milk, hence it's golden in color. We are truly speechless!
When sunlight falls on cows' hump, "magic happens", suggested Ghosh
Dismissing foreign breed of cows, Ghosh said desi ones have a hump on their backs. "Foreign breeds do not have humps and their backs are plain like that of a buffalo. The hump has 'Swarna Nari'. When sunlight falls on the hump, it produces gold. That is why the milk of desi cow is yellowish or golden," he told in Burdwan.
He also likened foreign cows to "aunties"
"The breeds of cows that we bring from abroad are not cows. They are a kind of beast. These foreign breeds don't sound like cows. Those are not our gaumatas, but our aunties. It is not good for the country if we worship such aunties," he added.
In India, consuming beef is a crime: Ghosh
Further, saying cow is "our mother", Ghosh said, "We stay alive by consuming cow milk, so if anyone misbehaves with my mother, I will treat them the way they should be treated. On the holy soil of India killing cows and consuming beef is a crime." Going on to attack a section of the intelligentsia, he said they should also eat dog's meat.
Eat dog's meat too, Ghosh advised beef lovers
"There are people who belong to the educative society and eat beef on the roadside. Why cow? I would like to ask them to eat dog meat also. Eat other animals' meat also. Who is stopping you? But eat at your home(sic)," he said.
As is obvious, BJP leaders only think about cows!
Ghosh's comment comes just weeks after BJP minister in Goa, Michael Lobo, suggested cows in the coastal state were becoming "non-vegetarian" and that they would be sent for "treatment". Before that, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat in July said that cow is the only animal that exhales oxygen. And Ashwini Choubey, MoS of Health Ministry, said cows' urine can cure diseases like cancer.
