#LokSabhaElections: BJP announces 39 candidates; fields Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur
The Bharatiya Jana Party (BJP) has released its 10th list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. BJP General Secretary Arun Singh announced the names of 39 candidates, of which 29 are from Uttar Pradesh and 10 from West Bengal. Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has been fielded from UP's Sultanpur while her son Varun Gandhi will be contesting from Pilibhit. Here's more.
UP: Jaya Prada fielded from Rampur; Pachauri replaces MM Joshi
Meanwhile, actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada, the former Samajwadi Party leader who joined the BJP on Tuesday, has been fielded by the ruling party from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur. Also, veteran leader Murli Manohar Joshi has been apparently dropped by BJP as his name is not on the list. Instead, the party has announced that SD Pachauri will be contesting from the Kanpur seat, replacing Joshi.

Union Minister Manoj Sinha will seek election from Ghazipur
Meanwhile, Union Minister Manoj Sinha will contest from Ghazipur, BJP UP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey from Chandoli, and Virendra Singh Mast from Ballia. Among other UP candidates are BJP leader Ram Shankar Katheria fielded from Etawah, Rita Bahuguna Joshi from Allahabad, and Jagdambika Pal from Domariagan. Candidates from West Bengal include Humayun Kabir from Murshidabad and actor Joy Banerjee from Ulberia among others.
