Why are BJP leaders protesting outside Arvind Kejriwal's house?
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's house turned into a fortress on Thursday after police deployed forces to deal with agitating members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP cadres were protesting against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader as he commented on Wednesday that Manoj Tiwari will have to be the first one to leave Delhi if NRC is implemented in the national capital.
First, let's tell you what started this controversy
Now, Tiwari has been a strong supporter of Assam-like exercise in Delhi. Last month he called Delhi's situation "dangerous" and a few days ago blamed "infiltrators" for attacking a scribe in CR Park. When Kejriwal was asked to comment on Tiwari's remark, he said the latter will have to leave Delhi if NRC is implemented. Bihar-born Tiwari represents North East Delhi in Lok Sabha.
Protesters raised slogans and waved flags
Taking strong offense at what Kejriwal said, BJP's Purvanchal Morcha staged a demonstration outside his residence. They shouted slogans, waved flags, and also climbed barricades which police put up. Meanwhile, police attempted to ward them off using water cannons.

What is BJP's problem with Kejriwal this time?
The protest is hardly surprising considering BJP slammed Kejriwal yesterday for equating those who came from different states to Delhi with illegal immigrants. Accusing him of personal attacks, Tiwari said Kejriwal has revealed his mentality. Separately, MP Ramesh Bidhuri asked if Kejriwal only cares about votes. In a video statement, Kapil Mishra explained to the Delhi CM what NRC means.
Former AAP member Alka Lamba also slammed Kejriwal
"If Tiwari should leave the national capital according to Kejriwal, then he should also do the same. If that happens, only people like you and me will be left in Delhi.... who were born here, grew up here and struggled in this city," Lamba said.
Meanwhile, a police complaint has been filed against Delhi's CM
Not letting the issue go, Mishra and BJP leader Neelkant Bakshi filed a complaint against Kejriwal and AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj at Parliament Street police station. They alleged the sentiments of Poorvanchali community were hurt owing to the remarks. Further, the complainants alleged the comments were passed for "vitiating the law and order situation in the city".
