Assam: BJP MLA Gowalla withdraws resignation two days after submission
What's the story
BJP MLA Terash Gowalla today withdrew his resignation from the Assam Assembly, two days after he submitted it to Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal on some issues.
The first-time MLA, however, had not submitted his resignation to the Assembly Speaker.
On October 23, the BJP legislator had alleged that he was neglected in recent appointment in the Assam Gas Company Ltd (AGCL).
Details
CM assured me my concerns will be addressed: Gowalla
On withdrawing his resignation, Gowalla said, "The CM called me for a meeting last night. He explained the complexities regarding appointments as different communities and regions have to be accommodated."
He said Sonowal assured that his concerns will be addressed in future and personally asked him to withdraw his resignation.
Gowalla said he sent a mail to Sonowal this morning and withdrew his resignation.
Reason
AGCL appointment was made without consulting with me: Gowalla
Speaking about the AGCL appointment issue, Gowalla said, "That is one reason (for resignation). AGCL is in Duliajan and people have made me their representative. They've some expectations from me. Without any consultation to me, the appointment in the company was made."
He further said, "I'm not saying that you (government) give the post to me, but at least I should have been consulted."
