Nehru not pandit as he ate beef, pork: BJP MLA
Once again proving that Bharatiya Janata Party is obsessed with Jawahar Lal Nehru, its MLA from Rajasthan, Gyan Dev Ahuja has now said that India's first PM wasn't a pandit since he ate beef and pork. Ahuja made these remarks on Friday. Notably, this is not the first time he has made absurd remarks. Earlier, he spoke about condoms lying around at JNU campus.
Watch: The MLA claims Nehru wasn't a pandit
Ahuja first fought and won on BJP ticket in 1998
A minister of the Vasundhara Raje government, Ahuja had first won on BJP ticket in 1998. He lost in 2003 and then won again in 2008 and 2013. He claims to be a journalist and is managing editor of Mat Sammat, a now non-existing weekly.
Earlier, Ahuja defended mob-lynching incidents saying 'sinners deserved punishment'
Not long ago, Ahuja went on to justify mob violence happening in the name of cows. Days after the Alwar lynching incident, Ahuja said if people caught 'cow-smugglers', they should first tie them to tree, slap them, and then call the police. When Pehlu Khan died in 2017 he said, "Sinners like them have met this fate earlier and will continue to do so."
Ahuja said students had sex, drank alcohol in JNU
What takes the cake is his comments on JNU. He had said uncountable condoms and liquor bottles were found from the JNU campus daily. As he received flak over his insensible comment, Ahuja said, "There is a controversy over what I said but I stand by my statement. I personally practise a satvik diet and satvik way of life."
